Route options
Whether you're a seasoned hiker, an avid adventurer, or simply someone looking to immerse yourself in Ecuador’s breathtaking landscapes, Runa offers two incredible route options: the Oso and the Tucán. Both routes will take you through the same awe-inspiring scenery — from the dramatic volcanic Pululagua Crater to the lush, mist-covered cloud forests — but each offers a different level of challenge depending on your preferred pace.
Oso Route (57 miles): Designed for those seeking a more immersive challenge, the Bear route covers 57 miles of diverse terrain, including rugged paths, challenging ascents, and a deeper journey into the Andes. This is the perfect choice for those wanting to experience a longer, more adventurous trek through Ecuador’s wild beauty.
Tucán Route (38 miles): The Tucán route offers a slightly shorter trek at 38 miles, perfect for those who still want to experience the same stunning landscapes and incredible biodiversity, but with a more moderate distance. Ideal for hikers or adventurers looking for a rewarding journey without the extended challenge.
Colibrí Tour (eco-tourism): This itinerary is perfect for those who prefer a slower pace while their partner runs or hikes, offering scenic tours, cultural experiences, and farm-to-table meals.
